It is a natural progression that moved with gusto into the realm of Web Site Design. As the emergence of the computer has revolutionized the design and printing industry, Martha Daniel has "grown up" with computers. Her husband, Curt, has been involved in the computer industry for 20 years and has a huge technical and applications knowledge that has been a tremendous asset to Daniel Design. The Daniels purchased their first computer, a TRS80, in the late 70's and have been "online" for more than20 years with the internet. Martha's strong background in design coupled with her knowledge of HTML language for the internet.....plus her husband's technical expertise is a combination of knowledge that very few other design firms could offer their clients interested in the internet. They have the latest computers, software and other hardware, to be able to provide state of the art expertise and equipment for their customers. The Daniels have two married daughters.

The graphic design and advertising shop now known as Daniel Design Associates, had its beginnings many years ago as a collaboration of creative efforts between two friends. Martha Daniel and Tommy Baysden, both grew up in Rocky Mount, NC and both attended college at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Martha was a student in the art and design department and Tommy was in the school of journalism. They had a knack of producing printed (and assigned) material that captured the cleverness and creativity of both individuals, and they enjoyed working together.
After college, they both went on their separate ways. Martha married Curt Daniel and accompanied him around the world as an Air Force wife during the Vietnam days, and Tommy married Cindy Bullard after his Navy days in the rivers of Vietnam. Both continued their creative endeavors.....Martha by teaching art...she was the first white ESEA Title I teacher in the still segregated Public schools in Selma, Alabama in 1968, and as a working artist in Puerto Rico for four years. Tommy helped Charles Fraser successfully develop and market the famous resort of Hilton Head, South Carolina and other resorts in the Carribean.
In the mid 1970's, both Martha and Tommy and their families found themselves back in their old hometown of Rocky Mount. Together again, they formed "Shoestring Productions: Creative Services You Can Afford". They created a variety of innovative print advertisements, logos, brochures, marketing materials for a wide range of clients in North and South Carolina, finding once again their remarkable ability to put their heads together and come up with wonderful and effective ideas. Tommy had interest in several restaurants across the state......The Rathskeller in Chapel Hill and the King Neptune in Wrightsville Beach.... and was also involved in the marketing of several large resort/real estate developments. Shoestring Productions created award-winning marketing materials for these projects and the two friends enjoyed continued collaboration and success for several years.
In the late 1980s, Tommy and his wife Cindy and children moved to Wrightsville Beach and soon thereafter, Martha bought out Tommy's interest in Shoestring Productions. Martha renamed the design business to Daniel Design Associates. The size of the projects had become larger and more complex; thus outgrowing the "shoe".. Martha and Tommy still stay in contact and collaborate on projects; he and Cindy are now in Beaufort, SC and he is Vice President of Palmetto Bluffs, a highly rated Conde Nast resort in nearby Bluffton, SC.
Daniel Design Associates continues to be a highly regarded innovative and creative design service in Eastern North Carolina.
